DIY AT HOME - Holiday DIY Project Gifts For Family With Special Meaning For Your Home Team $$$
[ad_1]
Letting people pick their own present is safe; you will not risk them not liking or using their gift. Yet you may feel that your own sense of giving has not been tapped. A true gift needs to come from somewhere in your heart and touch their. How can you do that at home?
You are a resourceful person if you do home projects. There are many things you can build, modify or fix that are unique and only will happen if you extend yourself to do them, using your time, materials, and imagination to bring about what they might enjoy.
There are basically two kinds of handy gifts. Those you make and give and those that involve the person in the project. Let's start with the make-and-give kind.
Thinking of small projects that are welcome gifts, you can find plenty of nice designs and pictures to get yourself rolling. Thumbing through your handy magazines or searching online, it is great to see pictures of the finished projects, as it will give you a design in your head to carry you into the project. Most articles will also give you explosive diagrams and handy hints on joinery that almost make the wood jump into place in your head. You know you will be ready to zip into it easily.
With small pieces of wood you have already on hand, you can make bins and organizers, a footstool, a computer lap desk, a remote control organizer, a book shelf, a nick knock rack, a toiletry cubby for your bathroom, a step stool , a coat rack, and more. Just look around at clutter in your home, and see what could use a nice organizer to straighten things out? There you go. Using square cuts and recessing your finish nails, and then a primer coat, you can have a nice looking piece that will look good with some accent paint left over from your last room painting.
You can also think of the animals - a window mount bird feeder is pretty cool and usually best if home made. The beautiful birds can come and have breakfast with you - what a joy! You can also make a gift for your dog, too. Perhaps a platform for his food bowl.
And the cats? A scratching post, a perch or litter box concealer. And, if you want to get quite adventurous, you might design a catwalk for them to explore the perimeter of a room. This can be a shelf that you mount along the upper walls of a room that inclines like a little ramp up to a perch and a house. You can even decorate it as an accent to your décor. It is certainly a fashion risk, so you will want everyone's consent who may be affected by the unusual but fun room project.
Another very nice gift can be to offer a day of handy work to each person in your family. Check your own schedule to make sure you can do it, and see if you can fit yourself into your kids' busy lives for one day each, during their school vacation. You can preview the day with cocoa a day or two ahead, and then be their contractor for a day, for their room or other project they need help with. If their room is all set, you can have them come down to the shop and help them build something they might like to have or give away.
Yet not all kids are into handy stuff, so you will need to respond to their talent leanings. You may pick up where their ability leaves off, to help them achieve a project piece they desire. Then hand over the paintbrush for the parts they can do. Your adaptation to their ability and unique talents will be a loving gift in itself that will connect you afterwards as respecting each other. It is like making a mini team-of-two for a day, to accomplish a little goal that is auspicious to them. Not only do you connect in adapting to their abilities, but your working towards their goal for the day is also a gift. That generosity will stick in their mind in times to come.
Your willingness to consider each family member's talents, desires, taste, and priorities as you team up with each one will be a great gift in itself. Knowing who likes to design, who cuts wood, who likes to cook, gives you an idea of how to adapt roles your teamwork; this will acknowledge their ability. Filling in for their gaps will also communicate acceptance and respect. All of this - adapting yourself to each little two-person team as you do your mini-team gifts, will help them feel special, respected, and loved.
Happy Home Team!

DIY AT HOME - Business Sales Close Plan - Milestones to Close the Deal***
[ad_1]
Being with my feet on the sales ground for 25 years in IT, I can recommend that many steps in the sales process need to be discussed and agreed internally and with the business customer to come to an agreed and signed contract.
Following this sales process through a so called 'Sales Close Plan', describes all the necessary milestones that need to be agreed from a resource perspective, internally from a supplier perspective as well as from the business customer resource perspective. This Sales Close Plan will enable you to set upfront the right expectations during the contract negotiation milestones during an enterprise sales process.
Discuss with your business customer the close plan and have your customer sign/off the Sales Close Plan on timescales and milestones. If each milestone is finalized confirm this in email to your customer so all expectations and potential road blocks keeps transparent and visible to you as supplier and business customer.
1. Identify the Power Sponsors:
Which customer contacts have the power to approve or veto a major contract deal?
Who are the business owners?
2. Identify customer procurement process:
Send Non Disclosure for approval.
Perform Customer due diligence and screening.
Is supplier employee screening process required?
What are customer standard terms & conditions?
What are the expected legal challenges? Intellectual property, Warranty...?

Which reference do we nominate for site visit or phone interview?

4. Feedback 1st round legal/proposal discussions:
Does the commercials/T&C's in the proposal need to be updated to get a deal?
If yes, which resources from supplier and customer are required?
Do we need internal approval from higher management for this?
Is customer requesting any legal adjustments that need further legal review by supplier?
5. Send new proposal/T&C's contracts:
Agree date for presentation final proposal to customer.
Is customer verbally accepting new proposal/T&C's?

When can signed contracts be collected at customer?

DIY AT HOME - Getting Kids Prepared for Back To School $$$
[ad_1]
The summer is slowly coming to an end and the beginning of the school year for your children is around the corner. Being organized, prepared and focused, while maintaining the restful peacefulness you hopefully achieved over the summer is the goal. So how do you get into high gear back to school mode without disabling all that good down-time feeling? Simple you start with the four P's, Pen, Paper, Plan and Prepare. Along with the hustle and bustle of getting kids prepared for school you will also be facing a Seasonal transition.
Seasonal changes may affect mind, mood, and motivation (energy). The transition from Summer into Fall mostly affects our mind, and motivation. Unlike other seasonal transitions, stepping from Summer into Fall is filled with so many chores, tasks (energy) and planning / preparation (mental gymnastics) that does it with a plan is important to stay balanced.
Purchase an attractive pad of paper for each child you have. Sit down with your pads and a pen and start with the oldest child's pad, and write down the goals you have for that child, for the school year. Write the goals relating to their health, behavior and what strengths you would like them to build. Write down any thoughts or ideas you have for that child. On the second page write down any concerns you have about that child and anything that others you about the child's behavior and title it Concerns. On the third page write down all the strengths the child has and all the great things about your child and title it Strengths. On the fourth page start writing everything down that you have to do to organize and prepare your child for going back to school. If you want an upgrade in bedroom furniture, clothing, products (bins, storage, bookshelves, file cabinets), or if you want to call about programs, tutoring or counseling, write it all down and title it Get Organized.
If you want to purge kids clothing to make room for new duds, or do a deep cleaning of the closets or get under their bed, discuss this with your kids and make sure they're on board for the task of preparing the room from Summer Solstice Style to Back to School ready. You may want to look for a new hamper, organizational tools (label makers, black permanent marks, filing systems, software programs, schedulers), or change out the linen and bedding. Old toys, books and knick knacks that are not being used or loved anymore can be given to charity. Teach your children about giving to charity. Help them part with items that are not age appropriate for them so they do not start having collecting and hoarding behaviors. Involve your child so they know how to do this for them at some point. Children must be prepared for the world when they leave your home, so start preparing them now.
The old saying "Children are to be seen and not heard" was a bad idea. Children must be taught how to have a voice, especially when they are going back into a school environment with other children and adults (teachers). No surprise that other children and even teachers may be harmful to your children. Please do not get me wrong about this issue, most people are loving and kind, but the news tells us there are people out there who can and will do harm. Sit down with each child and discuss Self-Protection and create a concrete way for your child to assess normal from abnormal behavior towards and others.
Sit down with each child to discuss Rule, Responsibilities and Consequences and develop a chart on a big white poster board. Depending on the children's ages the rules, responsibilities and consequences will vary. Each child has a separate chart solely for them. There are two columns for consequences so they can choose the one they want to have. This gives them some power in relation to consequences. This chart lets your child know how the world operates and as we know we have the ability to choose the consequences even when we get in trouble with the law ie Pay the fine or Traffic School. The amount of time you will enforce a take away (consequence) depends on the age of the child. 5-9 (1 day) 10-14 (3 days) 15-18 (1 week). Once a consequence is enforced DO NOT reverse it. Reversing a consequence because a child has a temper tantrum and or argues should double the differentiation not eliminate it. Eliminating a consequence once it is enforced will actually reinforce the negative behavior. Remember YOU are responsible to organize and prepare your child for the world, not the teachers, coaches, friends, family members or even counselors. It is YOUR JOB as a parent!
If you do not have Rules, Responsibilities and Consequences in your home, your child will believe that is how the world operates and they will be in for a rude awakening once they leave home. Not to mention your lives will be chaotic, confusing and misguided and you will miss appointments, due dates and be dis-organized from the get go. Do not take away extracurricular activities, special occasions (birthdays / dances), field trips, allowance since this will not only affect your child's natural ability to be socialized but it also affects and punishes the other children that rely on your child's participation.
Also realize, that if you are just employing new tools for keeping your child's life organized, it may be difficult and even painstaking at first, but then it will become easier and easier as everyone gets used to it.
It may seem harsh and you may feel guilty enforcing the consequences but feel the guilt and do it anyway!

DIY AT HOME - Home Projects +++
[ad_1]
Are you a Home Projects kind of guy ... or not? Owning a home means having something to do, fix, repair, renovate, and create and more. In order to ensure that all these jobs get done effectively (and improve the value of your home) it is very important that you learn DIY (do it yourself) and become competent ..
Dependent on your degree of profitability home projects can surely save you plenty of money. DIY is a learning process and a little help can often be just what you need to become a "Pro"
Everyone needs a "pat on the back" now and again. The successful completion of home projects will obviously instill a sense of pride but better still will have your better half acknowledge your success with pride. I find that outdoor home projects such as building a storage shed may also have the neighbors green with envy.
There are many home projects that enhance the value of a home, one of the most important being building a wooden deck. By utilizing the best plans available you will have no trouble creating a masterpiece for less than half the cost of a contractor and also increase the value of your home substantially.
Using excellent plans, together with the necessary BOM (bill of materials) will exponentially save you money and enhance you reputation as a DIY expert with family, friends and neighbors. So wherever your home projects include electrical work, plumbing or building a garden fence and more, get the best advice available.
Solar systems are gaining ground. This is not a DIY project at this stage and you should have professional installation. The beauty of a solar energy installation is that you will have free energy after 7 years, plus of course, once again the increase in the value of your house
Up to now we have been discussing a typical male environment but home projects are much more than this. Males and females can do money-making home projects full-time or part-time. This may include working on your computer doing blogs, affiliate marketing, article writing and much more. The money-making opportunities are limitless.
A word of warning! The internet is rife with scammers who will offer you $ 6752.97 in the next 24 hours if you buy their program. "If it's too good to be true, it probably is" Yes the internet has limitless capabilities but my suggestion is to stick to the tried and tested marketers, there are more than enough of them.
Getting back to home projects. It is entirely feasible for a DIY expert who has a passion for woodworking etc. to make a full-time occupation creating things like sheds, doing maintenance and best of all working for yourself.
I am personally very interested in sheds, actually in the process of building a storage shed as a home project. What I did find however is that while the internet has many free shed plans these just do not have all the bells and whistles. I found that settling for paid (cheap) shed plans is giving me all that I need.
