Type 2 Diabetes - Treating Diabetes Successfully Is a Process

[ad_1]

How familiar are you with the development of diabetes? You already know about Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. But do you know the main differences between them? The main similarity is they are both characterized by an insulin dysfunction. The differences begin with the cause, and for Type 1 diabetes the exact cause is unknown - the most we know about it is the immune system response eliminates the insulin-producing cells in the pancreas. For those with this condition, there is nothing that could have been done to prevent it. You must adapt, and live well despite having the disease.

Type 2 diabetes is a whole different story. It comes with warning signs. Its development can be forced to halt. If you have received a diagnosis, you must shift your focus to treatment: in some ways, the treatment is similar to its development.

How does Type 2 diabetes develop? Your pancreas manufactures insulin in adequate amounts, and then insulin drives the sugar into your cells. In the prerequisites stage, your cells close their doors to sugar and the sugar continues to roam free through your bloodstream. Your cells are now not receiving sugar, and your pancreas has been forced to make more insulin to help get the sugar inside the cell. More and more insulin is required by the body to handle its blood sugar efficiently. As well as your blood sugar raising your insulin level keeps growing in an attempt to force sugar out of the bloodstream into the cells. Fasting blood sugar would be chronically high at around 126 mg / dL (7 mmol / L) or higher.

Excessive sugar and the rise in insulin are what make a person overweight. And, unfortunately, a lot of the excess sugar is converted and stored away as cholesterol and triglycerides. Sometimes, external factors like genetic predisposition are involved.

The above is the process of its development. Whether you realize it or not, you played a part in the creation of the disease. On a positive note, you can play an even more critical role in its undoing. Take an active part in the process of treating your diabetes: and vow to take care of your pancreas. The more sensitive your cells are to insulin the more healthy your body will be. And when your cells respond to insulin, your pancreas will have an easier job.

What is more important than eating well, exercising, and monitoring your progress, is realizing how it all comes together to create a process. It is all a series of efforts with combined effects. Choose to exercise and eat healthily, and your pancreas will thank you. And guess what, no drugs are involved.

Treating Type 2 diabetes can be simple. Commit yourself to the process and all of its parts. Have patience and the courage to be consistent with your execution. You can improve your health to the point your blood sugar condition is no longer a serious concern, and in a fraction of the time, it took Type 2 diabetes to develop.

But you must play the part.

Whiz Kids: World's Youngest iPhone Developers

[ad_1]

These stories are indeed for the books. School-age kids have become the world's youngest iPhone developers.

Lim Ding Wen

Take the case of 11-year old Lim Ding Wen from Singapore which amazing tales are all over the internet. Various articles say that this wonder boy's first experience with the Apple IIS, the most dominant model in the Apple II series of PCs, came at age seven.

It may even leave you awestruck that Ding Wen is knowledgeable of numerous languages like Java Script, Applesoft and Objective C that most adults do not even understand. This child developed his first iphone apps after turning nine years. Records show that Ding Wen's Doodle Kids was already downloaded more than 800,000 times through Android and Apple Platforms. Doodle Kids is simply superb since it provides youthful users drawing functions utilizing the touch screen and connect to Apple TV.

The boy is now a celebrity. Ding Wen co-hosts the "Apple IIGS" program with two sisters on their father's You Tube channel as being from developer of "Invader War" that was recently released on the iOS platform. The CNN International network christened one of the world's youngest iPhone developers as Singapore's "Icon of Cool".

Thomas Suarez

Another brainy techie is Thomas Suarez, a 6th grader from South Bay in Los Angeles. The smart kid claims to have been inspired by the late Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple and Pixar. Apple's Software Development Kit, which was released in 2008, motivated him to formulate unique applications. Thomas eventually started selling these creations and launched a club for schoolmates to let him share programming skills. As one of the youngest developers, Thomas Suarez describes a noble vision: Young students represent a technology resource and should there before be allowed to share their knowledge to enhance the school's program in information technology.

Aaron Bond

Aaron Bond is from the United Kingdom and belongs to the roster of one of the youngest iPhone developers. The 13-year old kid was responsible for developing the Spud Run Game in 2011 with the help of a good friend, Sebastian McNeil. At the tender age of eight, Aaron already had a small enterprise designing websites. The game entails the navigation of a mutant potato through a difficult maze within 40 seconds before being flattered. The duo managed to purchase sophisticated equipment costing £ 1,400 that was earned from repairing friends' computers. Another Five Geniuses

More whiz kids are emerging all over the world. Just a couple of years ago, the likes of TJ Pluchahek from Portland; Jonah Grant from Chicago; Stephen Huber from Detroit, Michigan; Joe Constan and Andrew Rauh from Dearborn, Michigan, came out as four of the up-and-coming apps developers. This new breed of programming experts has already come up with money-spinning ideas for novel devices and platforms. Expect these iPhone Developers to come up with conventions that will surely raise eyebrows. These young techies will surely produce more iPhone apps within the next few years and inspire other young people to follow their footsteps.

Astronomy For Kids - All About Telescopes

[ad_1]

As you already know, a telescope is a device used to make far objects appear closer. But how do telescopes work? Well, there are several types of telescopes, but most of them generally function the same way.

How do telescopes work?
Light is collected from a distant object (such as a star) through the objective lens (used in Refractor scopes) or the primary mirror (used in Reflector scopes). The light then travels through the body to the eyepiece, which is similar to a small magnifying glass, enhancing the size of the image!

Who inserted the device?
Despite what many people think, the telescope was not invented by Galileo. Although there has been much controversy, Hans Lipperhsey has been given credit for the invention, as he was the first to patent the device in 1608. Galileo realized the potential of the device for astronomy; many great discoveries were made soon after.

Buying a Telescope
There are many factors to consider before purchasing a telescope. The most important aspect of the device is the diameter of the objective lens (or primary mirror), as this determinates the amount of light that enters the scope body. More light = a larger and more detailed image. So the bigger the objective lens (or primary mirror) the better!

The eyepiece also plays a very important role in producing a quality image. If the lens is low quality, then the amount of light entering the scope is going to waste! A good lens is needed to enlarge the image accurately and without distortion.

Cost may be the deciding factor, as well all know, good technology is not cheap! Fortunately, you can get a pretty good telescope for less than a hundred bucks. Many of the low cost ones will be perfectly sufficient for looking at detailed images of the Moon's craters, Jupiter, and even the rings of Saturn!

Intermittent Fasting For Beginners

[ad_1]

Intermittent fasting for beginners has two rules to follow: (1) Fasting has to be pleasurable and NOT stressful. (2) Fasting has to be simple and NOT rigid.

From an experienced faster's standpoint, I have a few suggestions for intermittent fasting beginners. There are two major reasons for people who want to do intermittent fasting (IF) - weight loss or health or both. In any case, it's good to observe these two formulas:

More rules = more complicated = low chance of success

Less rules = less complicated = high chance of success

In terms of health, a 24 hour period off of eating is very healthy, it helps you reduce calories without sacrificing what you like to eat on your non-fast days, and maybe even more importantly it stimulates your body to produce more growth hormone. Yes that's right growth hormone, the same one you hear about the celebrities taking to 'stay young'. Growth hormone has many anti aging benefits, and one of the most interesting being fat burning!

How to do Intermittent Fasting?

In an ideal situation, 2 sessions of 24-hour fasts in a week will be good enough to produce significant health and weight loss benefits. However for beginners, you are not recommended to jump start with a 24-hour fast, unless you are absolutely sure that you can do it.

There is no standard rule of doing IF. Simply try it and make it work for you. Let simplicity and flexibility be your fasting motto. Do not make it stressful for yourself.

As a beginner to practice intermittent fasting, I would say 'clear your mind from any other weight loss methods and focus on IF'. This is your first step towards IF success. Think how many times you've been told that breakfast is the most important meal in a day or you need to eat 6 to 10 small meals a day in order to lose weight. I'm not saying these rules are wrong. If these rules work for you, stay with them. But if you are setting your feet onto the route of intermittent fast, better put these concepts as at least for the period you are trying out IF.
Having your IF mindset ready? Then begin with 'skip meal' and see how your body responds. I would say this is the simplest and easiest way to begin your intermittent fast journey.

Pick a day to try 'skip breakfast'. Have fresh juice, water or tea instead. No coffee please. If that works out fine, try 'skip lunch' and move on progressively. A 24-hour fast can be done by anyone with an appropriate fast mindset. One useful tip is not to think of food. Avoid social talk at the pantry over lunch hour. Go out for a walk or do some simple exercises.

You can also explore these IF options:

• Condensed eating window, eg eat ONLY between 11am and 5pm;
• Skip meal on an unplanned basis, as far as it is natural and not interfere your daily work;
• Early and late, ie skip lunch;
• One meal a day, ideally dinner only when you are relaxed and really have time to enjoy food.

To repeat, fasting has to be pleasurable and not stressful. Do not press hard on yourself. Be flexible. This is very important. Do not upset your boss when you are called upon a business lunch by telling him that you are fasting. Do it as you see fit and your schedule permits.

A Simple Strategy to Winning the Fantasy 5 Lottery

[ad_1]

Everybody wants to win the Fantasy 5 Lottery. Everyone who joined may have come up with certain strategies to play out the Fantasy 5, or have used the power of luck. Although some have become successful, still many are at the losing end of the Fantasy 5 Lottery.

Fantasy 5 Lottery games are one of the best lottery bets you can play anywhere. The odds of matching all 5 numbers are 1 in 376,992, compared to million to one odds in matching six numbers. Fantasy 5 Lottery games are based on a selection of random numbers. It is highly unquestionably that a person or computer software can predict which numbers will be drawn. One of the first tips I will teach you about is to never waste money on lottery computer software that promises to crack the drawing of winning numbers.

Another tip for winning the Fantasy 5 lottery is to go against most lottery expert advises to veer away from the Quick Picks (computer generated picks). Why? Fifty percent of most Fantasy 5 Lottery jackpot winners over the past five years or so came from quick picks. So, when taking that Fantasy 5 play slip, better think twice to see if a Quick Pick can make your day. Look at the past - the best way to drastically improve the chances of winning not just the Fantasy 5 Lottery jackpot, but the 3, 4, 5 matches as well is to look at the archive of winning numbers previously drawn. Play it safe - play the numbers that appear more frequently than those who are cold I draws. A great way to look at these numbers is to view the archives of numbers previously won. There are reports published and sold, even online, for aspiring jackpot winners. You can see which of the 36 numbers have been most frequently drawn over the course of around 5years or so. With this, you get a better picture of the numbers with the most winning percentages.

Below are some more simple strategies in winning the Fantasy 5 Lottery

1. Play a combination of odd and even numbers, 2 odds, 3 evens, or vice versa. The report on the percentages of winning number stated that over a 5-year period, these combinations has a 66.19% wins.

2. The Report also stated that in a combination, it is best to play either 3 low numbers, 2 high number combinations, or vice versa. The winning percent of this combo yields 67.18%

3. Again, it's about the winning numbers. Play numbers that hit most repeatedly.

4. However, do not play the same number sets - choose wisely. Same sets appear very rarely in every 5 year period, the report only says twice.

5. Do not play an all odd or an all even combination. The odds are, just not even.

6. Consequently, as from the previous statements above, do not play a combination of all low numbers, and a combination of all high numbers.

7. It is always best to include some quick picks in your Fantasy 5 Lottery plays.

Depression Busting Skills to Teach Your Kids Now!

[ad_1]

What makes you happy, - do you know? For most us discovering what brings us joy, as well as what builds our self-esteem, is a lifelong process. There is, of course, always more to learn about ourselves.

But happiness, as the saying goes, is an inside job. Many of us are well into adulthood before we accept the fact that our happiness is our own responsibility, --and no one else's. For example, if I'm in a low-paying job, or in a relationship with a person who consistently puts me down, I could complain about my miserly boss or my critical boyfriend, --or I could take responsibility for being in those situations. I could work on trying to assert myself appropriately and negotiate for what I want. If my requests are not honored, then it is I who needs to take responsibility for finding other employment and new relationships.

Sounds neat and logical but, for most of us, it is not easy stuff to learn. So imagine if, at the tender age of 10 or 12, you had the opportunity to be part of a structured system designed to teach you the art of creating a happy life. Actually, make that the science of creating a happy life. The Girl Scouts of the USA has created a new badge designed to provide just this experience. Called the "Science of Happiness" badge, this merit badge is the brainchild of psychologist Martin Seligman who has conducted extensive research on reducing depression and anxiety in adolescents.

After puberty there is a sizeable increase in depression but research shows significant reductions in depression and anxiety in children who learn who learn these skills. Self-esteem and self-empowerment are cultured in advance of the stressors of adolescence, giving girls a leg up against the possibility of teenage depression.

You can help your daughters, --and your sons, too, for that matter, by teaching them these essential skills. Scientific research demonstrates that being happy is something people can learn to do. It is not simply a state caused by external circumstances. Teach you kids this concept: That they can do things to create happiness for themselves.

So here goes. Let's run through an example to make each step clear.

Your 10-year-old daughter has been after you and your husband to get her a puppy. Your husband and you are both thinking that you'd like to get a dog, but had been waiting until your daughter was older and could be more responsible for her pet. Your daughter, of course, promises you the moon; she will walk the dog in the rain, sleet and snow. You know full well, however, that you will be the one who is extremely responsible. Of course, you could just get her a puppy, and then she'd be happy, right? She might, but she'd be happy because of something you did, not something she herself did. This is a great opportunity to teach your daughter to learn what she can do to help herself. She can learn to be responsible before getting the dog; moreover, she will learn that her responsible behavior will get her what she wants!

Step 1. Define the problem. Sit down with your child and and a large pad of paper. Define the problem in objective terms that are clear to both you and your child. In this case, your daughter writes: "I want a puppy but Mom and Dad will not let me get one!"

Step 2. Reframe the problem into one that can be tackled by the child's efforts. In this case, you could help your daughter to revise it to read: "I want a dog and there are things I have to do in order to get one." This is great! She's on her way.

Step 3. Jointly create a list of activities with your daughter that she can do to reach her goal. In this case, you and your daughter may create a chart on a calender with responsibilities that she can take to prove she is ready for the responsibility of a pet. You and your daughter will make marks on the calender at the end of each day, to note her accomplishments. For example, let's say that each day for the next four weeks, your daughter will:

* make her bed in the morning;

* get all her homework done by 8 pm and show it to you;

And, once a week for the next four weeks she will read an article or book with you about caring for a dog. At the end of four weeks, she will create a final project such as a poster on what she has learned about dog care, and a list of things she herself will do for the dog.

(As you develop the activities in Step 3, make sure each task is one your child is capable of!)

4. Highlight and affirm your child daily for her efforts. When you check off her activity on the chart, make a point to offer verbal praise along with it. Say, for example, "Honey, you did a great job making your bed today! I did not even have to remind you! If your child fails to complete her responsibilities, keep your tone neutral and matter-of-fact. , "Tomorrow is another chance to get it right. You can still earn what you want. It will just take a little longer. "

5. Once your child has completed her set number of days or weeks of her responsibilities, be sure to let her know she earned the reward because of her own efforts. In this case, once you have gotten the dog, you might put a picture of your daughter and her puppy up on the refrigerator next to her completed chart and write, "Congratulations, you did it!"

Going forward, keep these steps in mind. A similar project can be set up to help your daughter with ongoing responsibilities for her pet. There is no limit to the application of these steps. Apparent problems are opportunities for teaching happiness in disguise.

Children's Book Review- Pearls Adventures Volume 1

[ad_1]

Variety is the spice of life. Children need to have a variety of reading experiences if they are going to learn to make good decisions. Children's books should be food for their thought process. There are two separate stories to each volume. This Manuscript is a story about a bear named Pearl. Pearl lives on a boat with her Mum and Dad.

Readers Report: DORRANCE PUBLISHING

" The first adventure Hide and Seek reveals that Pearl was named after a pirate ship named the Black Pearl.

Pearl enjoys playing Hide and Seek with her Mum and Dad on the boat. Pearl climbs up the ropes of the boat to play the game with her parents. Pearl's Dad finds her.

After she found, Pearl helps her Dad to find a pulley and fix the boat. After the pulley is found Pearl holds the wheel straight. After helping her Dad, Pearl is tired and goes in for the day.

This manuscript aims to show children what it's like to live on a boat. It also shows the love between a child and his or her parents. "

Letter from Managing Director Dorrance Publishing

" My editorial staff has completed the review of 'Pearl's Adventures Volume 1: Hide and Seek' and has provided me with the attached readers report. of titles. "

ROPES and COLORS is the second story in PEARLS ADVENTURES VOL 1. Pearl is being shown the use of each rope on the boat. The ropes are different colors so Pearl can remember what they are used for.

Pearl also gets to play, and tidy the bundles of rope that are not being used. Sometimes she gets in a real mess, but Pearl tries to remember to always play safe.

Pearl listens very carefully as her Mum explains what the color of the rope is and what that rope is used for. Not long after they had finished Pearl decided that she would like to tighten some of the ropes.

Pearl insisted on doing this until Mum gave in. Pearls Mum had already tried to explain that she might be too little, but that did not stop Pearl from trying.

This manuscript aims to educate children on some of the basics on the handling of a boat. It also shows that children do not always agree with their parents.

Ten Tips to Getting Great Water Footage

[ad_1]

1. Start with a dry camera inside your water housing or at least do not take it from cold AC to a warm (and humid) outdoors and then into a cool ocean with hot sun. The stresses and release of trapped condensation will cause your camera housing to fog up on the inside.

2. Make sure your camera housing is clean and seals properly. One little speck of dirt can compromise your seal and cause leekage when you go deep or far from shore.

3. Stabilize the camera with handles that minimize camera shake and lateral movement. 2 handles work better than one and 3 handles (one on top or bottom in addition to 2 side handles) gives you more options to find the right grip to minimizeize camera movement while swimming around or when dealing with strong currents or waves.

4. Use lights when goingeeper than 10-20 feet. Your footage may come out rather greenish in color if you do not bring your own light source when diving down more than 10 feet. You can fix this in post by adding back in a red filter to even out the color balance but the best way to shoot great underwater footage is to shoot it right before post production and that means bringing your own light source.

5. If your camera shoots in a high speed mode you can use this to minimize camera shake or slow-mo that amazing whale breech or fleeting moment of underwater action. Sometimes after an event you find that the action is happening a little too fast to fully appreciate the beauty of the moment. A 50% slow motion effect not only minimizes camera shake but gives you the freedom to highlight the best parts of your shoot by slowing the footage down. You can of course accomplish this in post production but as with everything else it's always better to shoot the extra frames in camera if you can and do not have to depend on post production filters to accomplish the shot.

6. Use some type of moisture absorber to minimize camera fogging inside the housing. Silica packs can all but erase camera fogging issues but if you find yourself swimming around miles from shore with a fogged up housing and some extra time on your hands try turning the camera off and holding it under the water to cool it down inside. As the camera heats up moisture expends and creeps out of the camera and collects on the inside of your housing. Cool it down and the moisture usually disappears. If you can get out of the water for a minute just open the housing (be careful not to let any water, especially saltwater, into the housing) and air it out. This should evaporate the condensation problem within a couple of minutes or less.

7. Pay attention to your surroundings and if you are looking into an eye cup try opening your other eye so you do not miss anything amazing while you're zoomed in on that special shot. This can also help you avoid underwater hazards and to be more aware of where you are and what is happening around you in this potentially hazardous environment.

8. Check your camera housing often for leeks but especially when you first get into the water. A good policy is to seal your camera housing and then give it a test dip to make sure no water is getting in to ruin your precious equipment BEFORE YOU SWIM OUT TO SEA OR DROP DOWN 80 FEET.

9. If diving down make sure to use the buddy system and do not ever go out alone without telling someone where you're going and when you expect to be back. If you are filming surface action like surfing or kiteboarding make sure to work with a confident athlete who knows their abilities and will not send you to the hospital instead of the XXL Big Wave Awards. Also know your own abilities and do not swim out in surf bigger than you can handle. It's hard enough to get everything right when filming in the water without fighting for your life in surf that's way too big for you. Also keep in mind that if you are filming wearing waves and you are in the barrel with your camera then surfers are going to be coming straight at you to get that barrel and it's up to you to get out of the way and not get run over .

10. Lastly, just get in the water as much as possible. Nothing beats experience and being fit for getting great water footage. If you are comfortable in big waves from swimming around in them every chance you get then you will have the focus and peace of mind to get great water shots. Also if you are in great shape for swimming and are used to your swim fins (and do not get blisters after hours of treading water) then you will have a much better chance of making it back to shore with some great water shots then if you just jump in and start filming with no practice at all. If you're just starting out filming in the waves try swimming out without your camera first and see how you do. And remember, stuff happens fast especially in extreme sports so the better equipped you are to handle whatever mother nature (or your talent) throws at you, the better chance you'll have to make it home safely with some amazing water footage.

The History of the Razor Scooter

[ad_1]

The Razor scooter is a folding scooter that was formatted by the JDCorporation. This was a project that was tackled by Gino Tsai. Gino was at the time Chief Executive of JD Corporation, in Taiwan. The

account goes that Gino Tsai derived the idea for the Razor scooter because of his short stature and that it took him far too much time to walk around his extensive bicycle factory in Chang Hua. The solution to defeat this problem was to take the old fashioned type scooter and give it a radical modernization. Subsequently 5 years later the Razor scooter was born.

The Razor uses airplane grade aluminum which has been tested to withstand to an astounding 1100 load without bending. The wheels come with silent bearings installed for a quader ride and a brake arrangement that operates by the rider treading on the rear fender. The handlebar and head tube fold when a quick release latch is opened, allowing for easy carriage and storage.

Nowadays, Razor USA is operated by Carlton Calvin, an American entrepreneur. With the development of TechDeck Fingerboards. Carlton began his own brand of Fingerboards which extremely wound up with him circulating the 1st batch of Scooters. Upon release to the American marketplace the reception was awesome.

Following on from the success of the initial release a campaign to aggressively distribute the Razor Scooters was started which led to complete domination of the market share through the USA. Carlton's efforts were such that he and that Gino forged a joint stock corporation and Razor USA was born. Carlton seeing the immense potential of the Razor scooter brand negotiated an exclusive deal with Gino to market the Razor brand globally.

Today there are four A versions, the A, A2, A3, and A5

* There are also the Pro and Ultra Pro models

* The AW is a basic A with a wheelie-bar

* The AW125 has 125 mm wheels and an extended deck

* The Cruiser Scooter has the largest wheels (but no 140mm replacement wheels are available) and a wooden deck

* The Rugged Razor [2] has pneumatic tires

The rest as they say is History.

The 5 Healthiest Cereals for Kids

[ad_1]

Many of the most popular cereals for kids are extremely high in their sugar content. In fact, some children's cereals have been found to be 56% sugar, when tested by weight. When interviewed by CBS news, health expert Dr. Andrew Weil that most of the breakfast cereal for children has been found with much higher sugar level than the allowed percentage. It is best, experts say, to allow your kids to add a little sugar and fruit to healthyier cereals. This will help instill in them better health habits in the future. So, what are good cereals to buy for your kids?

1. Oatmeal

Oatmeal is 100% whole-grain that means that it is rich in vitamins and filling. Whole-grains are a complex carbohydrate, which means that it will give your children the type of energy that will last all day, instead of burn off quickly like sugary cereals. To get them to eat more of it try adding fresh fruit, nuts, or dried fruit such as raisins.

2. Cheerios

Your average serving of Cheerios only contains one gram of sugar and 2 g of fiber. It also contains 16g of whole grains. One of the best features of the cereal is that one serving provides nearly half the amount of fiber a person needs for one day. Honey Nut Cheerios are also rich in whole grain oats to give your children plenty of energy and fiber. It has 9g of sugar, which is higher than Cheerios and some of the other cereals listed here. Still, the sugar content here is at a much safer level than most of the more popular children's brands. These cereals make great snacks for toddlers, with or without milk.

3. Kix

Kix contains 3g of sugar, 3g of fiber, and 8g of whole grain corn. It also contains approximately half of a daily dose of iron. Iron plays an important role in keeping your kids active, as well as giving them a strong immune system.

With 18g of whole grain oat flour as its basic ingredients and only 6g of sugar, Life cereal is a great choice for your children. It provides 45% of the body's daily need for fiber. However, this cereal does not provide as much fiber as some of the other cereals on this list.

5. Frosted Mini Wheat Bite Size

Although it has a slightly higher sugar content than some 'healthy cereals,' it provides 49g of whole grains in only one serving. In addition, it is a great source of iron, providing 90% of the body's daily requirement in one serving. With this much nutritional value, there is no surprise that it was given a very high rating among Consumer's Reports. For a lower sugar content, you can always try to defrost variety of cereals for kids.

Why You Should Have a CCTV System

[ad_1]

If you have a business, you would of course want the best for it when it comes to everything. It should of course do its main purpose of learning a lot of money however, there are some things that would seem quite small but could worsen if you ignore it. A very good example of that is safety; ignorance of safety could have you lose a lot if ever things would go wrong.

That is why it is important to have something that is very effective in keeping your business safe. Traditional methods of safety when it comes to business would be hiring guards. These would be unduly effective and would keep your business safe up to a certain reach. The best way of keeping your business is still by having you watch over it yourself but for a fact, that is indeed not possible. Fortunately, this can happen with the help of a device.

How Do You Watch Your Business When You Are Out?

For you to be able to watch your business when you are not physically there, you can do this through a CCTV camera. These are able to constantly watch areas that you want to be watched as long as you want it to plus it is able to record in full detail what it has seen. With so many features, there are even more reasons for you to get your system installed now.

This is the ultimate way of having business security. Not only are you able to see what has happened in full detail but the camera itself has an aura of which can intimidate. A recent study showed that the presence of CCTV surveillance alone can decrease crime rates in an area that is intolerable to crime to around 94% lower than how it originally was. Because of this, some businesses would place fake cameras just so that the people around would be intimidated with its presence.

What Else Do You Get Out Of It?

While a CCTV system is primarily intended for protection and security of whatever it is that the user would wish to protect, it is not only limited to that. Since it gives a certain presence to the people around it, your staff could work better, you could see how your customers behaved and other things you would benefit from if you see it for yourself.

A camera would act as your eye when you are not around, which is why it has that certain presence that people around would feel if it was there.

Get One Now

Considering what a CCTV system can give you, you may want to have one installed in your business right now. Some people might tell you that a CCTV system is very expensive and hard to have but the fact is that, a lot of businesses have it so if they can, why can not you?

With what you get out of it and considering how many benefits you would be getting from it, you are sure to enjoy everything your camera has to offer to you.

The Amazing Art of Balloon Twisting

[ad_1]

Nobody is really sure who was the first balloon twister. Some historians say that tribal Eskimos and other native people were using animal intestines for the purpose of entertaining their families or villagers. I can imagine the faces of those primitive children lighting up with delight as the town's jester - the funny man of the tribe-blew into the primitive balloon made from the guts of a sea animal or other living creature, and started twisting it till he created the shape of a dog or a bear. It is also believed that animal bladders were inflated and used as toys from time immemorial.

Nowadays, with the innovative rubber or latex, it is much easier to learn this amazing new and spectacular art. The magic skill of transforming a long inert piece of rubber into an amazing new creation is only limited to the artists imagination and techniques. He can create a vast array of animals, flowers, swords, motor vehicles, depending on the number of balloons utilized.

There are innumerable books, articles, manuals and videos written on the subject of balloon sculpture and the market supplies you with the best wholesale balloons you can find. Seems like many people are interested in learning how to do it, but not everyone succeseds because it is not as easy as it looks in the videos.

Once you manage to overcome the fear of popping the balloon as you inflate it with the unfamiliar pump, and tie the knot, you still have to vanquish the fear of twisting it. You can see people's eyes squinting, obviously afraid that the balloon is going to explode as they squeeze it and twist it. The audience participates of that same fascinating fear you feel when you watch the trapeeze artists perform in a circus.

When this art started being popular in the streets, those pioneer clowns used their lungs to inflate the balloons. That was not an easy or healthy task, and certainly not one that their counterpart females would do. But they managed to inflate it quite fast and well.

Nowadays it is not encouraged to do so, as the balloons have a lining of talcum inside which accidently can be ingested or inhaled by the artist and cause him respiratory problems. Along the fact that balloons do sometimes pop as you inflate them and it can hurt your eyes or face. Always use a pump.

Take Water Trampoline Fun to the Next Level!

[ad_1]

Any floatable device to be used in water is made with buoyancy in mind. Water trampolines are inflatable devices and are well built for use in aquatic sports with safety. They are made up of bright colors. These are very big and wide, with ample space to sit around when placed in the pond or a pool. There are a variety of designs available to suit the needs of various budget and space. These fun things form part of recreational merriment that can turn your pool or lake into a playground. As we follow safety guidelines while using other sports products, same applies to trampolines also.

Safety tips. When using this fun package, it is advised to stay clear of boats, ships, pier or docks. This device is designed is meant for aqua use only, so do not try to use it on land or on hard surfaces. Large bodies of water with a minimal depth of six feet are perfect conditions for using a water trampoline. It is best to use it in day time because at night, the visibility would be poor. No one should swim close to the area where you have installed the trampoline, as it may cause accidents. Also, before use, parts should be checked thoroughly for any missing parts or defects as this will hinder proper and optimum use and may even spoil your fun. Whereas with other trampolines, only one jumper at a time is allowed, with the water trampoline, up to three jumpers may jump at any one time.

Assembling. It takes three (3) hours to inflate it completely, with assembling of a ladder, springs and spring pad cover to provide the rebound and resistance.

Care. These should be washed with mild citrus cleaner, regular inspections of the product must be made and any tears must be attended immediately. Anchoring the trampoline is necessary to maintain ground. Sand bags and marine anchors may be used to anchor the water trampoline. You can purchase this fun filled equipment online and it is also available in many retail outlets. There is a variety available to be chosen from for specific needs and purposes.

These can be a great addition in schools and gyms. Whatever the purpose may be it is a great way to add fun to recreational life for all the ages of people and that is the reason it is becoming so much popular.

Old School Flash Photography

[ad_1]

When I first got into photography, a flashgun was something that fitted into a camera's accessory shoe, and plugged into a PC socket via a short cable. At its most sophisticated level, the PC cable was not required, and the camera and flash both had a hot shoe connection. All it did was produce a burst of bright light, timed to coincide with the camera shutter being fully open. The art of flash photography was all a matter of calculations and best guess adjustments.

The main problem with film flash photography is that the lighting effect can not be seen until a print has been made. Additionally, the position in which the flashgun is mounted to the camera is less than ideal for some types of photography, portraiture for example, since it produces a very flat light, and casts visible shadows. Good results therefore require the photographer to understand how they can manipulate this set-up, and knowledge stems from careful experiment and experience.

There are two ingredients to successful film flash photography. The first is correct exposure. Every flashgun has a "guide number" for every speed of film (although the number for 100 ASA / ISO is most frequently used), and that number is based on the flash firing at the subject directly. The higher the guide number, the more powerful the flashgun is, although some manufacture's tended to overstate the capabilities of their products. It's important to know the guide number for your flash.

The second piece of information required to calculate the correct exposure is the subject's distance from the camera. If using direct flash with an SLR or rangefinder camera, this measurement will be easy to establish. The exposure calculation is the guide number, divided by distance, and the result equals the required aperture.

Guide Number = Aperture

Distance

So if a flashgun has a guide number of 80, and the subject is 10 feet away, the required aperture is f / 8 (80, 10). The shutter speed should be inconsequential, due to the flash synchronization requirements of focal plane shutters (ie commonly 1 / 60th of a second). With leaf shutters, anything is possible, so long as the camera's speed does not exceed that of the flash duration (but with typical electronic flash duration at around 1 / 1000th of a second, this should not be a problem).

Some flashguns have a small exposure guide table printed on their casing, which shows the appropriate f-stop for a range of distances (the calculations have been done for you). Others have a "calculator wheel" where distances (and film speeds) are dialed-in and a suggested aperture setting revealed (in the manner of a hand-held exposure meter). Additionally, some flashguns require the user to work in meters rather than feet.

Anyone serious about flash photography might wish to experiment with his or her flash, and take a series of bracketed exposures of a test image (ie with variations to the f-stop used), allowing re-calculation of the true guide number for their gun based on the best exposures in their experimental prints (ie distance x aperture = guide number).

Further exposure calculations are necessary when the flashgun is used off the camera, or the light output is modified in other ways. Both these techniques can improve the performance of a basic flashgun.

Bouncing light

Some of the better (yet still simple) flashguns have an articulation to the light-producing window. This generally either tilts by about 90 ° (ie points at the subject or straight up, and any angle in between), or rotates from side to side (and sometimes they can do both). This allows light to be bounced off a near reflective surface on to the subject. Bounced light has a more diffused nature, and will cast softer shadows. Its direction (from above / one side) can better resemble natural ambient light. Suitable reflective surfaces should be white, so as to avoid introducing a color cast to the lighting: ceilings are often a good bet. The photographer needs to aim the flash at an estimated point where light will reflect back on to the front of the subject (somewhere between the camera and the subject).

Adding the total distance from the camera-to-reflector to the distance from the reflector-to-subject, and dividing the guide number will roughly determine the aperture size required. Some illumination will be lost, so the aperture needs to be increased by one or two f-stops: exactly how much extra exposure is given is a matter of judgment borne of experience.

Off camera flash

If a flashgun does not have swivel or tilt capabilities, then it can be used off the camera. This set-up has a few inconveniences. The flash needs to be mounted on a tripod (cold shoes with a tripod bush are available), plus there is a requirement to connect the flash to the camera via a longer driving lead. Improved illumination is often realized when the light source is away from the camera and at an angle to the subject (with or without bouncing). As with bounced flash, something important to recognize here is that flash photography is not necessarily done at very low light levels, and there will often be ambient light. Moving a flashgun off-camera allows it to be placed in a position where it will not cast shadows that conflict with the natural light source. Sometimes, a very powerful flashgun is not the most useful tool.

Home made diffusers

Some flashes come with a white semi-transparent diffuser. If your buying second-hand equipment, these accessories are often missing, but it's easy enough to produce a home made alternative using something similar: paper tissues held on with an elastic band can have the same effect. This diffuses the light, and reduces the intensity of the flash, thereby minimizing hard shadows.

As before, exposure determination starts with dividing the guide number by the distance, to derive the requisite aperture setting and then adding an additional f-stop (or two) based on the thickness of the diffuser, and experience. It's also possible to simultaneously diffuse and bounce flash.

Other ways to use flash

I'll just touch on this here, because the subject is big enough to fill another article, but there are many other ways in which a straightforward flashgun can be used (rather than simply mounting it on the camera, and pointing it directly at the subject). These include outdoor flash, fill-in flash, and using more than one flashgun.

In summary

Becoming adept with a flashgun takes experience gained from experimentation, but there are a few simple rules that, if followed, will take away some of the guesswork and get you into the ballpark of an appropriately exposed, and sympathetically lit shot.

The Importance of Virtual Tours to Market Your Listings

[ad_1]

What is a real virtual tour?

A real virtual tour is a pictorial representation of your home that makes the viewer actually feel like they are standing in your home.

How is this done?

I have been a virtual tour photog for 7 years. When I go into a home to start taking the 360 degree panoramic shots almost every home owner says, "Is that how you do it?" I chuckle and say "yes, but you must promise to not tell anyone the secret". Almost all of them think that the tour is done with a video camera. It is actually done with a digital SLR camera- like a Nikon. What makes it look like a video? Its the software my company uses to "stitch" the pics together. I actually think our virtual tour pans are better than video because of the ability to generate high intensity lighting using a flash that is not possible with a video without bringing in a studio light.

Why are not a lot of agents doing virtual tours anymore?

A lot of large brokers are providing their agents with programs that allow them to create a simple slide show using their own pics. Most agents do not want to have to spend money on a listing. Typically an agent can get a contract and take the listing and the only cost is to print out some fliers for the hanger on the sign in the yard. A typical virtual tour average price is about $ 100-150. Most agents will receive 3% commission - that's $ 3,000 per $ 100k but they do not want to have to spend anything up front because - in the current 2009-2010 market- homes are on the market an average of 100 days or more and a Lots of owners are cancelling their contracts and moving on to try out another agent. Then there is the problems with short sales.

How can you insure your home is being marketed properly? Ask the agent up front. Do you utilize the service of a professional photographer that takes 360 degree full panoramic tours? Or- you can call the virtual tour company yourself, pay for the tour and then you will own it. Then it will not have to be redone if you switch agents.

Activity Diagrams - Advantages, Disadvantages and Applications of Use

[ad_1]

Activity diagrams describe the actual work flow behavior of a system in Information Technology. These diagrams are very similar to state Diagrams because activities are the actual state of doing something. These diagrams describe the actual state of activities of a system by showing all the sequence of activities performed. Also, these diagrams can show activities that are conditional or parallel.

When to Use: Activity Diagrams

Activity diagrams should be used in alignment with other modeling techniques like interaction diagrams and State diagrams. The main reason behind using these diagrams is to model the work flow behind the system being designed. these Diagrams are also useful for analyzing a use case by describing what actions need to take place and when they should occur, describing a complicated sequential algorithm and modeling applications with parallel processes.

Activity diagrams' advantages:

  • UML modeling language included that these diagrams are normally easily comprehensible for both analysts and stakeholders.
  • In UML for the IT Business Analyst, "The activity diagram is the one most useful to the IT BA for depicting work flow [because] it is simple to understand-both for BAs and end-users."
  • Since they are among the most user-friendly diagrams available, they are generally regarded as an essential tool in an analyst's repertoire.
  • Additionally, as stated above, activity diagrams allow an analyst to display multiple conditions and actors within a work flow through the use of swimlanes. Swimlanes, however, are optional as a single condition or actor is normally displayed without them.

Activity diagrams' disadvantages:

UML modeling language include that these diagrams have the potential to become overly complex because their user-friendly nature may lend itself to an all-inclusive description. In other words, since it is so simple to display the information related to the project, why not include all of it? When an analyst has a large project, creating a single, overly complex diagram can be a temptation.

However, as one author notes, "if you are using activity diagrams to define the structure of a work flow, you should not attempt to explore several levels of activity graphs down to their most 'atomic' level." Instead, an analyst should try to present a new diagram for each work flow, or if more applicable, to use swimlanes to present different players within the same work flow.

Another aspect of these diagrams is that they may not be used in lieu of a state diagram or sequence diagram because "activity diagrams do not give detail about how objects be or how objects collorate." This is not a disadvantage per se, but it is important for an analyst to keep in mind when applying diagrams to their work.

In conclusion, activity diagrams are quite easy to get the hang of, and will be useful for most projects because they plainly and moderately clearly demonstrate how things work. "Unlike many diagramming techniques, these diagrams also enable the depiction of multiple choices and actors within a work flow, and they are easy for even non-technical users to follow

Applications of activity diagram:

This diagram has been extended to specify flows among steps that transmit physical matter (eg, gasoline) or energy (eg, torque, pressure).

  • Additional changes allow the diagram to better support continuous behaviors and continuous data flows.
  • The UML 2 specification significantly prolonged the features and scale of activity diagrams beyond their earlier classification as a special case of state diagrams.
  • Today, activity diagrams can be thought of as flow charts for the 21st century, and UML modelers use activity diagrams to describe it.
  • Also, these diagrams are useful in following methods:
  • Business Rules
  • Functions that occurs in parallel
  • Complex chain of multiple use cases
  • Software flows and logic control configurations
  • Procedures with judgment points and alternate flows
  • Single use cases

Quality Digital X-Ray Sensors Without Breaking The Bank

[ad_1]

Have you already made your decision on Dexis Platinum?

Why spend 8K $ on Dexis software and 12K $ per sensors on Dexis sensors? Even if you only need 2, one for you and one for your hygienist at at 32K $ in software and sensors and then have to shell out another $ 3,600 annually for your Dexis sensor support.

If you look at a 2 sensor Dexis package, and Dexis Image over 5 years that will run you approximately $ 46,400. Then you still need computers, annual Dentrix support of $ 2400, patient monitors and intraoral cameras.

By Comparison lets look at MyRay. MyRay sensors come with a 5 year warranty. The MyRay Zen Kit with 2 sensors and front cut corners is $ 14,890 it already has a 5 year warranty and will not need additional support payments.

Paired with Apteryx Xray Vision One of the most popular imaging software solutions in dental and the most widely acceptable software working with almost every sensor manufacturer except Dexis and having a great bridge to every practice management solution.

If you doubt the image quality check it out below or call for a demo.

So comfort and image quality aside, and I put them because because if you have not had a demo you can not say that Dexis is better right? And demos are free. Soooo give it a try.

Xray Vision since their terrible website has been around a long long time, they are used as the military's imaging software solution, they have an excellent integration to Dentrix, from the chart you are only one mouse click away to Xray Vision and the best thing about it is that you can use it with every sensor, camera and pano except for Dexis.

So it's your choice:

Dexis with 2 Sensors and Dexis Image over 5 years with Support: $ 46,400

Or MyRay 2 Sensors, Xray Vision Imaging Software with 5 years of Support: $ 18,250 So someone please explain it to me. Someone help me understand why people use Dexis.

I've heard this argument that it "integrates fully with Dentrix", Dexis Image is still a completely separate program from Dentrix and then you run a Dexis-Dentrix Integrator that integrates them with a little Dexis window shows up in your Dentrix chart. When you try to actually view the images or edit them it opens Dexis Image. With Xray vision you have a button and when you are in the Dentrix Chart you click the button and it opens up the patient in Xray Vision and shows you their images and Xrays.

Is clicking that button every day so difficult that people will spend $ 30,000 to not do it? You do not have to re enter patient data, its as simple as clicking one button.

Keep Official Communications Private

[ad_1]

There are several occasions when your entire team needs to communicate with each other simultaniously. One way out is using a VOIP or the voice over internet protocol. However, this assumes that each one is at his / her desk and has access to the computer and broadband. This is not always feasible as most people in the construction business know. Whether it is security personnel in a multi-storied building or mall; or in businesses like transportation, interior decoration or construction, you might have multiple people at different locations that need to communicate what is going on. This issue is better resolved using walkie-talkies.

Professional Usage Requires Professional Gear

The idea is to ensure that you or your person are not at the mercy of cell phone service providers. When you opt for professional Walkie Talkies you know that the frequency has been fixed by computer and the users can not change it, so ensuring confidentiality. Amateurs desirous of listening in can be programmed by the fact that only channels not not the frequency are are displayed. Such a radio system for communication is reliable and efficient to use due to voice clarity and long battery life. You do not want the battery to die on you just when someone has some critical information to convey.

In fact, the Motorola Talkabout EM 1000 R has some advanced features, which makes it ideal for professional usage, including a range of twenty miles and emergency alert mechanisms. However, you will need other products like portable, plug and play ready cameras disguised as eyeglasses or sunglasses or even a pen or a wristwatch. Spyglasses are the tools that drive investigative journalism, crime investigation, and espionage.

Whatever may be the kind of undercover camera which you use, make sure that it has night vision and can make clear recordings even in the dark or in uncertain lighting. Try looking for the kind of video cameras which use the progressive scanning method to produce razor sharp images even with fast moving objects like passing cars. You will also need a DVR for recording, retrieving, storing, transferring and saving digitally recorded files. In the latest models of DVRs the basic operations like start, stop, pause, search and tracking saved files are simple and easy to operate. Just ensure that both the camera and the DVR have a hard drive size that matches the time frame while recording at the highest possible resolution and frame rate.

Surveillance Equipment - Keeping Homes and Businesses Safe

[ad_1]

There are many types of surveillance equipment available. There are setups that are obviously made for observation, and then there are the less noticeable apparatuses. Observation can be done by anyone from private homeowners to businesses to government agencies; and for any number of reasons.

Perhaps the homeowner will set up surveillance equipment to observe the activity in their home when they are not present. There could be a number of reasons the homeowner has decided to do this. The most compelling reason for many is that it will deter thieves. If it does not deter them, then at least there is a way to possibly identify the criminal and solid evidence against them. Another plat of the individual might be to catch a spouse who is suspected of hiding something such as infidelity. On the other hand, maybe a couple is worried that the babysitter is not quite paying enough attention to the baby, or even worse, neglecting him completely. This homeowner could choose to use an outdoor videoing system, a 'nanny-cam', a wired (or wireless) hidden camera or a number of other sound and video capturing devices that are available for purchase.

What about the business owner? Over fifty billion dollars each year is tossed out the window on office supplies stolen by employees. Okay, it is not literally tossed out the window, but it may as well be. The employee that thinks it is okay to snag the occasional manila folder or ball point pen does not stop to consider the cost of that theft. And, yes, it is THEFT. It may not seem like much, but now consider what would happen is every single employee in a company of 500 people took just one manila folder and one pen each month. That translates to thousands of dollars a year! Now, throw in the occasional bottle of correction fluid and the gutsy soul that walks off with a calculator. The losses just keep getting bigger and larger. That alone is enough to make a business want to implement a surveillance equipment system. An employee is a lot less likely to take office property is they know they are being watched. The thought of being observed is also likely to increase productivity as the employee will not want to be chatted at the water cooler instead of working on a presentation.

As far as government usage of surveillance equipment, it is beneficial to our entire country in many ways. It is used to increase public safety and deter criminal action. It is also used to track known or suspected terrorists, in addition to many other things.

Audio and video surveillance equipment is available in many forms. You may be able to make local purchases, although your largest selection of items will be at an online retailer. You will be able to find anything from full scale setups for thousands acres properties, all the way down to micro technology that is as small as a pin head. You might be surprised at some of the technology that is available to the average consumer!

CCTV - An Overview

[ad_1]

CCTV is essentially a remote eye recording events digitally so that these events can be watched live or reviewed later. It's choosing the right CCTV system that sometimes gets a little tricky. So here's what to look for when you're evaluating which CCTV system to invest in.

The idea of a CCTV system that allows activity, events and circumstances to be recorded and reviewed by anyone with access to the system is not a new one. After all, CCTV systems can be as unsophisticated as a camcorder, or even a mobile cellphone, recording a family event or outside activity to sophisticated satellite linked, distant recording, remote viewing on an international level.

But for every day purposes and in a business or home security application, a modern digital CCTV system would combine a number of strategically placed cameras into a Digital Video Recorder which may in turn be viewed by a live operator, viewed off site, linked to a remote monitored security desk or attached to intruder alarms. Perhaps the simplest of these applications is the babycam type of camera which feeds video direct to a mobile cellphone allowing concerned mum to keep an eye on the kid or babysitter while she's out to dinner.

So a CCTV system enables activity to be monitored and measured. If the CCTV device has a recording facility then those activities will be stored in a digital format and a review at a later stage will be possible.

Theft, non compliance to procedures, idleness, absenteeism, delinquent behavior and fraudulent use of time cards are just a few of the applications where CCTV can help a business increase profitability. Commendable performance can also be observed since punishment poor performance behavior and rewarding productive performance - all making for a more profitable environment.

Training and performance effectiveness can also be measures by CCTV. Behavior and performance can be measured against expected training outcomes. Monitored images can also be used to train in turn - allowing the inductee to see what the expected performance looks like.

The opportunities are endless. All are aimed at increasing the sustainability of the business, removing uncertainty and increasing peace of mind. No more will you need to worry about what's going on. With remote viewing you can log in and check out what's happening from anywhere that has an internet connection.

Top 10 iPhone 6 Cases

[ad_1]

So your expensive phone finally arrived. You get enthusiastic, test the display, run a game, import contact list and then you remember you have to go buy some groceries. Perfect time for the first trip with your new phone. But then the universe decides it's time for you to pay for every bad karma you gathered in your life. The phone suddenly becomes sentient, gets extra slippery and just jumps out of your hand or pocket and lands onto the pavement. The screen is now broken and you are in anguish, thinking what could you have done to prevent this situation.

If it did not happen to you yet, I am absolutely sure you know at least one friend who has experienced this horror story.

Everybody drops their phone sooner or later so what can you do to protect it? Buy a case or a protective screen? But would not a case make my phone look cheap and like a brick?

These questions are natural, you can not compare the feeling of the phone the way it was designed, in it's nude state (metal, glass or leather) with the somewhat cheap, bulky feeling of a protective phone case.

In an attempt to deliver a better phone experience some companies offer an interesting warranty offer. For example, the HTC One M9 will get replaced once if your phone gets damaged, including accidental drops or screen cracks.

But most companies will charge you extra fees (up to $ 200) in order to repair your phone if you accidently drop it.

So in order to keep your phone safe, but without it looking ugly or cheap, let's have a look at what case manufacturers have to offer in order to satisfy both safety and design needs.

Note: A case will keep your phone's value in case you want to resell it.

Since the appearance of the iPhone 6 and 6+, it has been observed that this phone is more prone to taking damage than the other high end phones (Samsung Galaxy S6 is also on the top list also because of its glass and metal build). From the occasional scratches to screen cracks, we definitely need to protect our expensive phones. So we have compiled a top 10 list of the best iPhone 6 cases that, hopefully, will not empty your pocket.

1. Apple Leather Case

One of the first options you get when considering buying a case for your iPhone is actually from its manufacturer. Apple offers two types of cases for its iPhone 6, silicone and leather. We will have a look at the leather case.

Design

Apple took on a more non-invasive, minimalistic design using a soft leather cover that does not take away form the premium feel of the phone.

The case is durable, which provides a sturdy grip and what we enjoyed the most is that it adds almost nothing in terms of bulk (5.91 × 2.76 × 0.59 inches) or weight (1.76 ounces).

Another good factor is the fact that the case is easy to snap in place and very easy to remove. It wraps around the back and the three sides (all corners are covered).

Note: On the back rests the Apple logo.

The Apple Leather Case comes in black, midnight blue, red, soft pink and olive brown.

Protection

The Apple Leather Case offers protection against daily use, average drops (around 6 feet) or scratches. If better protection is needed in rougher environments we recommend a tougher case (Otterbox and LifeProof are a good alternative).

Inside the case there is a microfiber that keeps the iPhone from getting scratches when you remove it or put it in your pocket.

Also, the case is thick enough to protect the camera lens and the screen.

Access

The case has holes for headphone jack, lighting cable, speaker and mute button, basically leaving the bottom of the phone completely exposed.

The buttons are responsive under the case and although the buttons were a bit hard to press at first, after a couple of days, they eased up. In the camera cavity there is a black anti-glare section.

One problem we encountered is that because of the higher dent around the screen, some gestures (like swiping from left) are hard to perform.

The Apple Leather Case brings an element of class to the iPhone 6 and despite the leather ages, it does add character, but right now, the case is a bit overpriced. If you do not complain about the price, then this case is perfect for the average consumer, melding together both a reasonable protection and a high quality design.

2. Otterbox Symmetry Series

Otterbox features three types of cases -Defender, Commuter and Symmetry - and we will focus on the slimmest in Otterbox's portfolio, the Otterbox Symmetry.

Design

The case is well-designed, it includes the curve of the iPhone as much as possible, despite the fact that it is a bit bulky. The material is two-toned, with soft synthetic rubber on the inside and polycarbonate on the outside.

Although the Apple logo is covered, the back panel is rather stylish and has a premium feel. But like said before, the case is bulkier and heavier than other slim cases, measuring (LWH) 7.6 x 1.63 x 6.0 inches and weighting 6.7 ounces.

The case is made of a single piece, so installing and removing the case is rather easy.

The Otterbox Symmetry comes in two-toned colors: Black, Blue Print, Glacier, Teal Rose and Damson Berry.

Protection

In terms of protection, the Otterbox Symmetry features drop and scratch protection, the maximum drop height averaging around 6 feet.

Also, the edge of the case is slightly raised around the screen so when you drop it face first your phone will remain protected (if the surface is flat enough; in any case we recommend a screen protector to go with this case).

Access

Access-wise, the case is reasonable. The buttons, although covered (except the Mute button), remain clickable and there is an anti-glare section around the camera port.

There are cut-outs around the speaker, lightning port, headphone and microphone ports.

Overall, the case feels solid (as expected from Otterbox) and it does manage to deliver a great iPhone experience to those who do not mind the bulky size of the case.

Also, considering the fact that the price dropped to about 30 $, this is one of the best cases for iPhone 6.

3. LifeProof Nuud

LifeProof is a consecrated company that makes iPhone accessories since 2011. Since 2013 it has been acquired by Otterbox.

Design

The Lifeproof Nuud is a light, slim case with a stylish design and solid overall feel. The case is very compact, it measures 7.75 × 4.25 × 1.1 inches and weighs 5.78 ounces.

Installing the case is simple and straightforward, it's a matter of snapping the front and bottom parts together.

Note: You should always do the water test before exposing your phone.

The case comes in black, white, blue and pink.

Protection

The main thing you will notice is the fact that the display is uncoovered, hence the name Nuud. There is an optional screen protector included in the box.

The LifeProof Nuud Case is waterproof, but we would not recommend it for surfing or any prolonged subaquatic activity. It works best when you accidently drop it in snow or in a small puddle of water and you quickly remove it.

If you drop the phone from normal height (maximum 7 feet), it should not damage the phone, but there may be exceptions if the surface is not flat, as the screen is exposed.

Access

Access to the iPhone is somewhat decent, the buttons are covered by durable plastic flaps and the headphone jack is protected by an attached screwed cap (which can be an annoyance sometimes, but necessary in order to be waterproof).

You may turn a blind eye to these minor inconveniences because you will have the full feeling of the display, thanks to the uncovered display.

Still, a major problem that a lot of users reported is that the LifeProof Nuud affects the sound quality of the iPhone 6. While listening to some songs or watching a movie, the sound is less clear and at a lower volume than you would when listening with the bare phone. The microphone is also affected as a lot of people have reported that hearing the iPhone user on the other end was a hassle.

The camera and the flash have their own cut-out space so it does not affect the photo quality at all.

All in all, the case does achieve its purpose, it is waterproof and shockproof, it allows perfect access to the display, has reasonable access to buttons, camera remains clear and if the sound quality was unaffected, this would have been the perfect case.

4. Mophie Juice Pack H2Pro

The Juice Pack H2Pro, is the first waterproof battery case from Mophie.

Design

The Juice Pack H2Pro features a stylish design with a black matte finish (there is a glossy white finish available) that feels very comfortable in hand.

Although the case is quite bulky, comparing it to other external battery packs, it is rather slim. Still, the Juice Pack H2Pro will double the size and the weight of your phone, measuring 5.91 × 2.76 × 0.59 inches and weighing 1.76 ounces.

In order to install the case you only have to slide the main case part over the phone and push the top part afterwards in order to seal the case.

The Juice Pack H2Pro comes in two variations: Glossy white and black matte plastic.

Protection

The Juice Pack H2Pro has a waterproof protection rating of IP-68, as the case has been tested to a depth of 4 feet for 30 minutes.

The case provides protection against scratches or scrapes and can withstand drops from up to 6 feet thanks to the screen's protective layer.

Note: H2PRO meets Military Standard 810G-516.6 for drops and other potentially damaging situations.

Access and Battery

The front of the case is somewhat featureless, with small metallic vents for microphones and speakers, with cut-out holes for microUSB and headphone ports and on the sides there are protectors covering the buttons.

Over the display, you can find a flexible membrane that allows for reasonable access to the touch screen and the Touch ID.

The case features an on / off system and four light power indicator.

The Juice Pack H2Pro comes equipped with a 2,750mAh rechargeable battery that basically doubles (and more) the battery life of your iPhone. According to Mophie you gain 11 additional hours of video playback and about 50 additional hours of music playback.

During our testing, the battery delivered an additional 130% recharge.

Overall, the Juice Pack H2Pro delivers a premium experience, featuring great protection, a good looking design (although inevitably bulky) and a rechargeable battery.

5. Tech21 Classic Frame

Tech21 promises great protection using innovative materials (D30), without adding too much size to the iPhone 6. Let's see if it delivers.

Design

The case features a minimalistic design, sporting a tough polycarbonate back and flexible D30 material sides. The back panel is transparent (you can see the iPhone's design through) and the edges provide a lot of grip thanks to the rubbery texture.

Tech21 Classic Frame has a thin profile, measuring (LHW) 3.03 × 0.69 × 6.15 inches and weighing 4 ounces.

Installing and removing the case is reliably easy. Because the bottom is exposed, you can insert the phone through (or pull from the bottom for removal).

The case comes into two choices of color: Clear to Smokey.

Protection

Tech21 claims that thanks to their innovative technology, the D30 material, shocks should be absorbed and dissipated leaving the phone unharmed.

And they are right, the phone is protected from drops from up to 6 feet. We tested from around three feet and the iPhone 6 was safe and sound.

What about the screen? Well, the outer lip around the screen extends up a bit higher so that if you drop your phone face down, it will protect it from shattering (may limit the use of some swiping gestures). Still, it may be recommended to acquire a screen protector in case the phone is dropped on an dangerous surface.

All this protection comes without adding too much bulk, unlike other cases.

Access

In terms of access the case behaves relatively well.

You have full access to the phones controls thanks to the cut-out on the bottom (easy access to the speaker, microphone, lighting port or headset jack) and on the side for the phones mute switch.

The volume controller and the power button are covered by built-in button into the case itself. Some complaints are that the buttons feel a bit spongy when pressed and pushing them may require a bit more force than you would expect.

In the end, the case does offer a good amount of protection, does not take away from the native iPhone style and most important, it is not bulky, so in my book, this is a must have case.

6. Case-Mate Barely There

Just like the name suggests, the case is barely there, perfect for people who do not really like to have a case but acknowledge the need to protect their iPhone.

Design

The case features a minimalist design, with a matte finish (we tested the black version) and a cut-out for the Apple logo.

The Case-Mate Barely There is very thin, adds almost nothing in terms of bulk (2.8 × 0.4 × 5.5inches) or weight (0.5 ounces) and you will often forget it's on the phone.

It is very easy to install, you just have to slide the right side and just clip the left side of the case.

The Case-Mate Barely There comes in a large array of colors: black, white, clear, pink, green, orange, brown, gold, silver, blue, gray, purple, red and mixed.

Protection

The Case-Mate Barely There provides a more basic protection than the other cases we have reviewed, being able to prevent only cosmetic damage (scratches). Still, there is a good protection for back, sides and corners.

Inside the case you can find a textured rubber that prevents phone scratches from dust stuck inside the case.

Unfortunately, if you want protection against drops (especially dropping your phone face down), this case does not deliver such a feat, but if scratches or scrapes are the reason you want a case, then this is the perfect case for you.

Access

Accessibility is one of the best parts of this case. It features cut-outs for easy access to the volume controller, power and mute button, leaving the top and bottom of the iPhone exposed.

Thanks to these cut-outs, it is very easy to use the Dock Adapter. Also, a great thing is that it does not obstruct the swipe gestures.

7. Spigen Tough Armor Case

Let's have a look at one of the toughest cases for iPhone 6, the Spigen Tough Armor Case.

Design

The Spigen Tough Armor Case is surprisingly slim considering the protection it provides, featuring a dual-layer design, an inner TPU core (that prevails the hard outer frame from scratching the body) and a polycarbonate outer frame.

However, despite the fact that it is quite slim considering its capabilities, it does add some amount of bulk, measuring 3.75 × 1.0x7.0 inches and weighing 4.96 ounces.

Thanks to the soft interior finish, installing and removing the case is easily done.

The Spigen Tough Armor Case comes into 4 different color variations: Gunmetal, Satin Black, Smooth Black and Champagne.

This case is compatible with screen protectors.

Protection

The Spigen Tough Armor Case offers great protection to your iPhone with the air cushioned technology, meaning shock is absorbed and dispersed through the TPU core.

The case offer protection for drops from up to 6 feet.

The screen is left exposed, but the case lip is a bit higher so it may protect your screen, but it is recommended to purchase a screen protector just to be sure.

Access

The case has cut-outs for easy access to ports, buttons, camera and dock connector.

On the back of the case you can find a circular cut-out to show the Apple logo (the area can easily scratch).

This case manages to achieve a solid, elegant look, while giving enough protection for almost every cosmetic and even heavier damage.

8. Incipio DualPro Shine

In the past, Incipio cases were OK-ish, nothing impressive, but the DualPro tends to change this perception.

Design

The design of the Incipio DualPro Shine is quite unique, using two layers, instead of one, each with its own style and role.

The first one is a shock absorbing dLAST TPE rubber layer and the exterior shell is made from polycarbonate, featuring a brushed aluminum finish.

To install the case all you have to do is simply slide the iPhone into the rubber layer and later clip the plastic layer onto the back.

While uninstalling we have noticed a problem. Because the cut-out for the camera is thin, you can easily break the case around it.

One surprising fact about the Incipio DualPro Shine is that although it features two layers, it is not very bulky, measuring 5.65 × 2.88 × 0.45 inches and weighing 1.6 ounces.

Incipio DualPro Shine Comes into Gunmetal / Black, Silver / Gray, White / Gray, Gold / Black and Gold / Pink

Protection

Each of the two layers of the Incipio DualPro Shine has its own role. The inner layer is stretch resistant and the outer shell provides protection to scratches and scrapes.

Overall, the case protects your phone from falls from up to 4 feet and the edges do provide a little screen protection if falling face first.

One minus is that the outer shell is quite sllick (sllicker than the iPhone itself) so it can fall out of you hand easily.

Access

The Incipio DualPro Shine allows you to access all the iPhone's buttons. It features cut-outs for the lighting port, for the headphone jack, speaker and camera.

Buttons are covered with a rubber material that can be pressed with ease. The exception is the mute switch that can be a little hard to manoeuvre if you do not have bigger fingernails.

The Incipio DualPro Shine is compatible with other screen protectors.

9. Griffin Reveal Case

The American company, Griffin Technology, features a large array of cases for the iPhone. To name a few: The Survivor All-Terrain, the Survivor Core, the Survivor Slim, and the Reveal case, which we will review right now.

Design

The Griffin Reveal Case is a slim and lightweight case featuring a simple, minimalist design, with slim rubber edges (that provide good grip) and a sturdy, completely transparent, plastic back.

The case itself does not add too much bulk, it measures 6.3 × 0.4 × 3.25 inches and weighs 1.6 ounces.

The transparent back is made of polycarbonate and although it shows the back of the phone, it retains fingerprints and scratch marks with ease.

Thanks to the rubber edges, the Griffin Reveal Case actually provides good grip and makes it really easy to install or remove the case.

The frame is available in black, white or pink.

Overall, the case feels solid, the design is simple and will please every user who desires to see as much of the iPhone 6 as possible.

Protection

The edges of the Griffin Reveal Case absorb shock and the back does protect the iPhone 6 from scratches or other cosmetic damage but it does not offer too much protection for serious drops or any heavy inflated damage.

Because the case wraps around the edges, there is a bit of protection for the screen, especially if you drop it face first.

Access

The Griffin Reveal Case has it's ups and downs in terms of access.

It does feature cut-outs for lighting port, microphone, headset jack and camera. Also, there is a cut-out for mute switch large enough for it to slide easily and a black rim to prevent reflecting flash.

But, the case covers the power and volume buttons, making them a lot tougher to push.

10. Pong Sleek Case

Pong Research comes into the market with two case models for the iPhone 6: Sleek and Rugged. Pong claims that the cases reduce radiation and strengthen the signal of your phone.

Design

Pong Sleek Case features a sleek design, with a smooth exterior and diamond shaped grills on the back revealing a part of the gold metal antenna.

The case covers the phone corners completely, but it does not add too much bulk, measuring 6.75 x 1.25 x 4.25 inches and weighing 4.64 ounces.

Note: To install the case all you have to do is to snap it on the phone.

One complaint would be the fact that the case is more slippery than the iPhone itself, even on the edges.

The case is available in black, white and red.

Protection

One of the main aspects of this case is that it should reduce the radiation (using a micro-thin gold-plated antenna) by 89% under SAR limit - great for prevention as there is no definitive study to show that there may be harm from using cellphones.

Other than the radiation protection, the Pong Sleek Case can withstand drops from up to 6 feet (certified by US military standards).

The case also protects from scratches and other cosmetic damage.

Access

In terms of access, we had no problem while using this case because all the ports and buttons are uncoovered.
